Cherry Christmas Outfit + Donut Christmas Tree!

This was my Christmas outfit :]
I'm rather fond of it!

I got the top from Goodwill but it was originally very baggy until I took some scissors to it and sewed it up! That's one of my favorite things to do, go to Goodwill and buy something with lots of potential and make it into something that's just for me. This is definitely one of a kind now and it's super cute!

♡♡♡

And here are some pictures of my Donut Tree! I made all the donuts myself with felt with the exception of the tiny ones which a friend of mine made for me :]

It looks SO much better in person and I wish I had a better camera and lighting to show you!

I also cut out a few dozen paper snowflakes to fill up the tree :]

I didn't make a star or buy one so I put one of my Keroppi's up :]

This is the second year in a row that I've done a themed DIY tree and it's really inspiring me to do this every year :3

Our Christmas was pretty swell. We didn't get to buy and give out gifts like we wanted to and considering everything going on in our lives and throughout this year this Christmas was a lot nicer than I thought it would of been. I'm really looking forward to 2014 and I'm putting together my New Year Resolutions and going over the ones I did last year. I really love New Year Resolutions cause it's a great time to stop and evaluate how far you've come and what you'd like to pursue in your life. Rather than a random day, New Years is definite.

Anyway, I hope all of you head a pleasant holiday and that your New Year is spent doing something that gives you peace!

GEO EyesCream Circle Lens Review!

I've got three circle lens reviews for you and they're all GEO EyesCream.

Since I'm doing all three I'll go ahead and review the enlargement and comfort right up here. Go to each individual lens for a review on their color and pattern and what I think of them personally :]

Enlargement
They're 15mm and the natural normal size is usually around 14.2mm so they make a big impression.

Comfort
Rayray Gray is my favorite of the three so I wear it as one of my regulars and I wouldn't if it wasn't comfortable! Just keep eyedrops with you as you should when wearing lenses!

♡♡♡

Color + Pattern
The pattern of these lenses remind me of doll eyes. They're beautiful in pictures and are subtle in person. They look natural but really come out well when photographed in good lighting. The color is also subtle. It's not too bright and serves as a natural color for those with dark eyes.

Over All
This is my favorite of the three! I love gray lenses of all kinds. These are darker but they're beautiful and they're a part of the lenses that I wear more than my others :]

♡♡♡

Color + Pattern
The color of these lenses are dark honey. The pattern of these lenses remind me of doll eyes. They're beautiful in pictures and are subtle in person. They look natural but really come out well when photographed in good lighting.

Over All
I love lenses with this kind of color but they never look as nice with my skin tone so I tend to avoid them or wear them very rarely. They look really nice on paler or darker skin tones though.

♡♡♡

Color + Pattern
These lenses could be mistaken for the Vanilla Brown at a glance but at closer inspection they're darker and suit their name very well. They look very chocolatey. The pattern of these lenses remind me of doll eyes. They're beautiful in pictures and are subtle in person. They look natural but really come out well when photographed in good lighting.

Over All
This is my second favorite of the three. Even though they're dark, they can seem so bright and sparkly! They're such a beautiful shade brown.

Pastel Checkers - outfit

I recently got my new two piece from Choies!
I couldn't help myself and I had to have it! The colors are so appealing and beautiful and since it's a two piece, I can make many different outfits with them!

It looks amazing in pictures, lovely to look at in person, and oh so very comfortable. The fabric is stretchy and breathable. The skirt should be a pretty good length even for tall people. The skirt has two layers and stays in place pretty well. I didn't have to worry about the wind too much but I would still wear shorts underneath it for extra windy weather.

Coming out of the package it's very wrinkly but I tried it on immediately, haha. It's not too bad and the creases don't bother me but wash it first. It's hand wash only but it's easy enough to do it and dries pretty fast.

It's available in XS, S, and M. I got the M because it's the largest size for bust which is 34" but my bust is 36". It's still pretty comfortable but if I were noticeably bigger, it may be a bit too snug. Everything else fits pretty nicely. Not snug or loose, just comfortable :]

Now to show you how it looks on me!

Two Piece: Choies
Cardigan: Forever 21
Headband: Aumore
Shoes: GoJane.com
Necklace: Icing

♡♡♡

This two piece was on my Christmas List and I couldn't be happier with it :3
It matches my Donut Themed Christmas Tree which I made felt donut ornaments for and it looks so cute! I got a couple ugly burns from my hot glue gun but it was worth it, hahaha!

Take a look!

I still need to get a star. For now Keroppi is my tree topper x]

How ready are you for Christmas? :]

Glossybox: Nov 2013 Review

Here is another month of Glossybox!

A few of my friends have told me that they're subscribing to Glossybox and I'm so excited for them! I hope they enjoy it as much as I do :3

Glossybox sends out monthly beauty boxes filled with five travel size beauty products that range from makeup, skin, hair, and nails. Now is a good time to subscribe for the December box because it's the holiday season!

So let's get to it!

Here are the items from November's Glossybox, featuring a Nicka K New York Professional Eyeshadow Brush, a Jelly Pong Pong 2-in-1 Eyeliner & Shadow, a bottle of Mastey Color Protecting Leave-In Oil Treatment, a bottle of The Aloe Source Jojoba Radiance Cleansing Polish, and an Emite Makeup Micronized Eye Shadow in Dams.

The Jelly Pong Pong 2-in-1 Eyeliner & Shadow is my favorite item among the five. There are four different colors and I got the Plum. It's a creamy texture and it can be layered. Even though it's supposed to be an eyeliner or eye shadow, I prefer using it as a lip liner instead! It helps give me a fuller upper lip and it looks pretty natural since the line of my lips are of similar color. I would continue buying this for that reason :] Using it as a eyeliner or eye shadow, I love the texture and it's easy to blend. It stays put fairly well too. I love any product that has more uses than one so I'll be keeping this item on my list of repurchases!

Next is the Emite Makeup Micronized Eye Shadow in Dams.  DAMS is a highly pigmented eyeshadow that is completely free of parabens and fragrances. The pigment is micronized to facilitate the application and to create an even and fine results. An excellent choice for lens wearers or those with sensitive eyes. It can be used both wet and dry.
If you look at the swatch above, the lighter gray area was one light application and then the pure black area was a build up of the product. Both were applied dry. I haven't tried it wet yet but I'm sure it's great. I've only used this a couple times since I don't wear very dark makeup often. I mostly rely on eyeliner and false lashes but I'm happy to have this item because I broke my last black eyeshadow T -T''
Glossybox tends to replace lots of things that I run out of which is one of the reasons why I love them so much! But anyways, in comparison to other eyeshadows I've owned this one didn't strike me in any amazing way. I'm not a makeup guru so I can't say whether it's terrific or not, but for my tastes and needs I can find something of lower price that will suffice. It is a good shade of black though. It's pure with no blue, purple, or grey hints. It's completely matte and it doesn't dry my skin. I would definitely recommend using an eyeshadow primer.

Along with the eyeshadow was a helpful tool, a Nicka K New York Professional Eyeshadow Brush. Typically, I expect makeup brushes to be expensive but this was only $5USD! The brush is soft and it applies gently. I don't have much else to say about it but to try it! All their other brushes are low priced as well. If you don't use makeup brushes, trust me when I say it makes an incredible different from using your fingertips or those little applicators that come in palettes. You could easily buy a few of their brushes to start you off such as this eyeshadow brush, a blush brush, an eyeliner brush, and a foundation brush.

After makeup, always take it off before sleeping! This cleanser, The Aloe Source Jojoba Radiance Cleansing Polish, can help as it's a multi-tasking, sulfate-free cleanser that effectively removes makeup, oil and impurities. It gently exfoliates with a combination of jojoba microbeads and alpha and beta hydroxy acids, while nourishing aloe vera soothes the skin. It claims to be suitable for all skin types!
Now, I put claims because trying out skin products can be so hit and miss. Either you've struck gold or it's just another face cleanser, but not quite what you need. For me, I've used this a couple times and the result was good. It felt nice and I enjoyed the microbeads. It lathered and gave that clean feeling. It didn't tighten my skin or make it dry, but I used moisturizer afterwards of course. From what I remember, it didn't increase the oiliness of my skin either. It was pretty balanced but I haven't continued using it because I prefer my own skin cleanser. I'd say give it a try though. The ingredients are really good.

This oil treatment is a combination of Certified Argan Oil, Olive Oil, and GrapeSeed Extract. This unique combination provides the maximum protection and healing for color treated and damaged hair. Argan Oil infuses hair with natural nutrients to help repair and protect color treated hair from styling heat damage; Olive Oil helps to soften and moisturize the hair and scalp, and the powerful Anti-Oxidant Grape Seed Extract helps to prolong the life of your hair color. These three ingredients in combination with Mastey's vegetable based natural moisturizing factor, rice amino acids (rice proteins) for reconstruction, and Vitamins E, and B5 make this leave-in oil treatment the perfect solution for damaged or color treated hair. • Adds incredible softness and shine • Protects from thermal damage • Speeds up drying time • Revitalizes and repairs your hair • Made with certified argan oil • Seals the cuticle and protects color • Enriched with Omega - 3, 6 AND 9, lipids, anti-oxidants, vitamin E and natural moisture • 100% VEGAN • NO ANIMAL TESTING • NO PARABENS OR HARSH PRESERVATIVES • GLUTEN-FREE • NO SODIUM CHLORIDE • NO MEA OR DEA • NO SYNTHETIC DYES

All that is straight from their description! I'm pretty glad to have this right now since I've been lightening my hair again to go back to my pink! It has definitely helped keep my hair soft. The ends of my hair are so damaged and dry but with this, it has managed to keep a soft texture. Not as soft as virgin hair but for what condition it's in, it feels very nice.
The oil doesn't feel heavy or sticky. It's dry and goes into my hair well. I'm not quite sure if it really speeds up drying time but everything else is just about right. I can't wait to dye my hair and see how well this helps keep color!

♡♡♡

All in all, this was a pretty good box. It catered to a lot of my interests and though not everything shined for me there always seems to be at least one item I find very useful and I fall in love with.

So that's the end of it!
Thank you so much for visiting!

I come bearing unfortunate news regarding SheInside :[ I really don't know how to go about this but to go straight into it.

Recently, a friend of mine was approached by SheInside because her blog's stats were good enough to be sponsored but she was then rejected because of her size! I'm absolutely disgruntled by this news and I want to publicly announce that I will be retracting my partnership with SheInside.

For her comfort and privacy, I will be keeping her name and blog information to myself. I believe long time followers will trust my word, and for new followers or people who are looking for more information on this situation, I want to offer all of you as much proof as I have while keeping it within the boundaries of my friend's comfort.

Below is a screen shot taken by viva-shiba who kindly censored my friend's information and helped bring to light this situation on Tumblr where I found out about all of this. (Please do not interrogate or bother viva-shiba. All she has done is help spread the word about what happened but I'd like to thank her for making her post.)

I've known this blogger for at least two years. I've created many connections and friends during my experience as a blogger and if there were any rumors or bad practices that came from a blogger, it tends to go around but they also get dismissed rather quickly because many bloggers have long time followers that help bring out the truth. As a long time follower of hers, I've noticed she has always had good relationships with her sponsors. She's responsible, respectable, and has a good relationship with her readership. From what I recall, she doesn't touch on many personal topics. Maybe an update on her life as to why she's not blogging but I haven't seen her make a post such as personal and hurtful as this one.

I requested if she had any screen shots of the conversations she had with SheInside but only had recent emails which she gave me permission to post.

As you can see, she was gracious enough to thank them for their offers but righteously defended herself against SheInside's discrimination and attitude towards her weight. Instead of dissuading the topic or offering a sincere apology, they gave her a response that outright says they didn't want to bother with this situation. Since they have been sponsoring me for quite awhile now I can affirm that their english isn't the best. There could have been a difference of communication, business, and maybe even culture. I can't guarantee all these things, but in the perspective of proper business practices this should have been handled more sensitively. Not only that but I believe any blogger that reaches and surpasses the required blog stats should be acceptable regardless of their looks. If they have loyal readers and people that are inspired by them, that is likely more customers for any business that the blogger decides to put on their blog. I won't delve into this topic too much. I could say more about it but I want to address why this is all important.

Now, SheInside has been good sponsors to me and they never treated me badly. We have never had bad communication and the items were almost always good quality, or at least good enough for my standards. They were patient with me for the times that I couldn't do my reviews right away and I'm incredibly thankful for all the items they sponsored me. Anything that is given to me I cherish wholeheartedly and appreciate. However, that's where the line is drawn. I cannot continue to support a company that hurt my friend and discriminates against people's bodies. I know for a fact there is clothing on their site that would of fit my friend as well as people who are bigger. There are some incredible plus-size fashion bloggers that are just as equally inspiring as size S bloggers.

One of the biggest and most important reasons I started this blog was to support and encourage all people of different sizes, heights, weights, colors, abilities and disabilities to be themselves whether we share the same style or not. I know I have some amazing readers and followers who have shared with me their stories. Stories about how they've started to have enough courage to dress how they like, be themselves, and how it has drastically improved their life and their self view even though there are so many things in this world that tell us we need to be molded a certain way in order to be seen as acceptable and beautiful.

As you are right now, you are acceptable and beautiful but you need to create your own definition of that for yourself to believe it. So I want to see you at your best and your best can only come when you're not being compared to others. Create your own standards. Be who you want to be and look how you want to look and wear what you want to wear. If you feel good, you will look good because it's all about you and how you perceive yourself. Don't make it about others and don't let them keep you from enjoying the things you like. Ask yourself, who told you you can't and why are they important enough for you to stop trying? It's likely that person, that thought, that company, that commercial, that picture, those words, aren't important enough in your life to control how you feel about yourself. You're more than that. You deserve to know what it's like to be comfortable in your body. The body that gets you up every day. The body that helps you experience happiness and laughter.

This world is messed up in so many ways. It's stressful just thinking about it! But there are people like you and me who are hoping and working for a future where all forms of beauty are acceptable. There's no denying that looks are important in this world. Even to people who aren't interested in beauty and fashion are affected by this and it shrinks us. It makes us believe that if we're not beautiful, we're not good enough for certain people, jobs, opportunities. etc. We're scared of creating memories with pictures because we don't want to see our faces or bodies in them. What a world we live in that over half of us can't genuinely smile in a picture, in a moment that is truly happy, because so many of us can't stand that we don't look the way we were taught how we're "supposed" to look.

This topic is more than a girl being hurt about a company rejected her for her weight. That is an example right there where the world's standards are in works. The smaller person may get the job before the more qualified bigger person. The prettier person person may get more commission than the less conventionally pretty person who has more knowledge and can get you a better deal. These things happen in real life. Every day. Opportunities are taken and given away to people just because of how they look. Not just size, but skin tone, race, body modifications, disabilities, age, etc. I'm not saying all the conventionally attractive people don't deserve it or aren't smart or qualified. The problem about this is that this blogger qualified in every way except for how she looked... She has plenty of followers, is a good and responsible blogger, has good relationships with her previous sponsors, gets enough hits and blog views, but was still rejected and removed AFTER they invited her to review products for them because of how she looked. Doesn't that seem wrong to you?

I know that fashion and beauty has a standard but I'm on the side that wants to dissolve that standard. It feels impossible but just because it feels that way doesn't mean I will stop believing or stop encouraging others to be a part of this industry. It NEEDS to change. It doesn't just affect girls, it affects everyone of all ages. Your younger siblings, cousins, friends and/or children will grow up in a society that will tell them that they're not good enough. Don't you remember how it destroyed you? Or how you or a friend or someone you know became so obsessed with pleasing others or making themselves into what others want that they lost themselves. Some lost themselves to mental illnesses, eating disorders, drugs, alcohol, abusive relationships, etc. This isn't just about size or clothing. This is about the effect of these kind of practices. I've been affected myself by these things. I know how much it hurts and controls so much of my life. This is why this is important.

I can only hope SheInside understands this. I'm not asking them to change their stances or persuade them differently. Businesses do what they believe is best for their image and for their success. I'm not trying to talk badly about them either. I HATE discord but this is something I can't ignore.

Now if you have shopped or continue to shop at SheInside, I'm not here to guilt you. Your money is yours after all and I know what it's like being poor and wanting to treat yourself to something nice that's affordable according to your budget. SheInside has been honest with me and has given me great clothing that I know will last me for some time. This decision was made from my own personal beliefs and I want to stand for that, as well as for my friend. No one likes to see their friends getting hurt and though there's not much I can do about that, this is what I'm doing for her.

I want this to be resolved as peacefully as possible. I hate chaos and disturbances. I hope everyone who follows this blog understands my stance and that I won't be continuing with the giveaway. I love giving back to my readers and I'm so appreciative of my sponsors. Without both parties I wouldn't have nearly as much success on this blog but sometimes things like this will happen in life. Nothing ever goes smoothly all the way through and I have to make a stand once in awhile, so I hope both parties will understand and respect my decision.

I deeply appreciate all of you who have been following this blog for so long and I hope to give something back to you soon! And I want to thank all of my sponsors who have supported me all this time and have treated my fairly. I hope they all use good business practices and that they find success through them!

Thank you for your time!

Green Fur Hooded Long Sleeve Drawstring Coat from SheInside

One of my favorite winter pieces that I've never had until now is a dark green coat with a fur trimmed hood. My excitement for it hasn't dulled at all now that it's in my hands. I'm in love with this look!

This coat is on sale for $36.83. Original price is $52.62!

Before I show you my full outfit, let me tell you more about this coat!

The picture to the left is their stock picture while the picture to the right is my own picture of the coat that I received. You can tell right away from the fur trim on the hood that they're not the same item. I believe the coat they sent has a bit stiffer fabric as well. However, I'm not disappointed with the differences or that it's a knock off.

So let me tell you why I still like and want this coat and the details!

Though the fur trim on the hood is different, the color combination of the lights and darks are beautiful. I actually prefer it because it can suit different skin tones and hair colors. It makes me look sophisticated and I love that, clothes that can give off an air of elegance and grace.

There are two buttons at the bottom of the hood to close it up and it engulfs my head and face. My husband seems to think it's cute and enjoys kissing me through the fuzzy fur, haha!

The inside is lined with fleece except for the arms. Now forgive me because I have extremely small knowledge of the names of different fabrics. The arms has that soft and silky fabric that usually lines the inside of a dress so that it's more comfortable to wear. It's not silk but it's soft, hahaha. All I know is, it helps keep your long sleeves from rolling up since there's no friction when you put your arms inside the jacket, but it's still warm.

It's very wrinkly coming out of the package so I had to iron it. The cotton is somewhat stiff and thick but that's good for cold weather. The pockets are at a perfect position to put your hands into and you're able to close them with the little buttons. This jacket zips up and looks kind of funny and stiff in my opinion, so I prefer to keep it open or tied around my waist with the drawstrings.

This is the coat I'll be throwing on when I need to head out into the cold immediately. It looks good even with simple outfits and it's comfortable to wear. But for my first outfit with this coat, I decided to make it a little more dressed up!

Cotton Candy Pink Coat!

When I'm looking around for a new coat for winter I usually find lots of black, brown, navy, and the occasional red number. Typically, you don't find pastels or much ranging in different colors. Everything is mostly for practical use but I've found something that suits my sweet tastes!

Inside of the jacket is lined with this incredibly soft and warming faux fur.
I feel like I could melt in it from how soft and warm it is!

The only fault that I found in this coat is that it's missing one little button detail on the pocket, that you can see to the left of the picture below. It doesn't bother me too much. I can just put a few pins there to make it look like I made it more personal. The flaps don't actually button in place to close off anyways. You slip your hands right into the pockets. The flap and button is just detail.

There are two patches on this coat. I think the Death From Above patch looks odd but funny with the pink. It doesn't bother me but it may bother some others. Just got another patch to put over it! Maybe a donut or something, haha!

Over all, I'm happy with this piece! It's exactly what I need to ward off the cold while reflecting my interest of fashion and the color pink! Out of the package it's very wrinkly so it will need ironing.

Right now it's on sale for $44.40!
But if you don't fancy pink, check out these other colors!
